Solidarity Sounds is a small fundraising collective. We put on our first fundraising evening music & food event in 2015 raising over £1500 for two charities (Médecins Sans Frontières UK & Migrant Offshore Aid Station) that help refugees in crisis. We have felt the need to help charities that need the most immediate support during lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic by putting on an online fundraiser event.
This bank holiday Friday, we are going online on Zoom for an all-day festival event. The line up is packed with workshops, talks, fitness classes, live music, DJ’s & more, to help brighten everyone’s day during lockdown. We are raising funds for two very worthy charities, Refuge & Helping Hands Hackney, who need support at this time.
Helping Hands Hackney
They have recently had their kitchen equipment stolen and we would like to support them in setting up again. They kindly feed the homeless in monthly outreach events as well as providing essentials like toiletries & clothes.
Refuge
They are a national helpline for victims of domestic abuse and statistics are showing cases are up 25% due to the lockdown and calls to the helpline are up by 50%.
Tickets are from £3. The link is here and a Paypal link if people would prefer to donate directly.
